How it works: your path to care

About our birth doulas
Brood birth doulas support you prenatally and through your labour and birth process. Each of our birth doulas have packages that reflect their individual expertise. They provide:


On call 24/7, from 36 weeks gestation onwards.

Ongoing text and email support.

Prenatal sessions with a focus on childbirth education, postpartum planning and birth preferences.

Continuous labour and birth support with hands on care.

First feed and latching support.

1-2 postpartum sessions.

Birth debrief session.
About our postpartum doulas
Brood Postpartum Doulas explore your core needs during each shift of your postpartum journey. This care is deeply personal, which means it will look a little different for every parent and family.

Shift Variation
Based on the package you choose, or the additional hourly care you book – Brood’s Postpartum Doulas provide support during the day and overnight. Our day shifts are 5 hours – you pick the hours, we show up. Our overnight care is always from 10 pm to 6 am. They provide:

Baby care and education – think bathing demos, baby wearing, and swaddling tips.

Sleep support and guidance for the whole family.

Relationship nurturing between your support team, other kids, and pets.

Nursing, bottle, and pumping counsel.

Formula and/or bottle preparation and sterilisation.

Postpartum nutrition support, through meal preparations and grocery runs.

Home upkeep, tidying and product supply check-ins.

Connecting you with other healthcare and wellness professionals.
