Read our up-to-date protocols for doulas during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Right now more than ever, is the time to gain support, knowledge and community. We at Brood are striving to keep our families safe, supported and connected. Below you will find our latest protocol and offerings, based on the current pandemic.
Our priority is your family and our team’s safety.
Our priority is your family and our team’s safety.
- Doulas shifts are not social interactions and are not guests in your space, they are hired professional care workers providing a paid in-home care service.
- Every member of our team is vaccinated against Covid-19 — due to the nature of Covid-19 and vaccination records, these are the only vaccines that we require from our team.
- Birth and postpartum care workers are well versed in sanitization and hand washing. As soon as our doulas arrive at your home, they will do so.
- All doulas will arrive to shifts wearing a mask, and continue to wear one — unless parents are asleep and not within 6ft of your babie(s).
- If any doula has a symptom of Covid-19, they will test daily until symptoms subside, and be in touch to reschedule your shifts — for when they are in good health once more.
- If any doulas has a positive Covid-19 test, they will isolate for 5 days and/or until symptoms subside, and a negative Covid-19 test is obtained.
- Should you have any other Covid-19 precautions in place, please feel free to share them with your doula and the Brood team. If you choose engage with our precautions and policies differently, you are doing so at your own risk.

Since time immemorial, the original peoples of these lands have cared for their families and communities. We are committed to honouring their teachings, legacy and their sovereignty.
