What is your personal definition of “doula”?

You know your blueprint, you are the teacher. I am simply your facilitator, doula, companion for and to you. I understand birth and postpartum as a rite of passage, an expansion and calling into the deeper parts of you– the path of parenthood. My goal is to create ease, and meet you where you are at. You are always welcome to share or ask anything. I’m here to help you navigate the uncharted waters of fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, women’s health issues.

What brought you to birth and postpartum work?

My journey into women’s reproductive, maternal, child, sexual health began at an early age. Always one to find joy and love in volunteering and helping others. I have worked with Plan Canada, Because I am a Girl on the Maternal Newborn HealthCare Advocate Program, which fell under the Change the Birth story initiative and as an advocate with Canadian Centre for Gender + Sexual Diversity. These experiences led me to begin understanding some of the pain, stories, and experiences women have and continue to face.

For the last four years, I have served babies, women and families as a postpartum and birth doula.It is in my nature to nurture and make families feel supported through the deeply spiritual and transformative experience of birth and rebirth. Walking with you through holistic healing practices and traditions when it comes to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood. Rooted in ancestral wisdom, and the exploration of self.

In a climate of caregiver burnout, how are you caring for yourself?

Boundaries are critical, and my goal is to be mindful of what my body is capable of doing. Being outdoors, spending time with loved ones, and nourishing my body with whole foods, movement, and bodywork is how I enjoy caring for myself and staying on top of my health and wellness.
