About

What languages do you speak?

English and Hindi.

What is your personal definition of “doula”?

To me, a doula is someone who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help make your birthing process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. My role is to provide emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental support to both you and your family throughout the journey. Think of me as your trusty BFF, always there by your side to celebrate your milestones! I create a judgment-free zone, ensuring that you feel empowered and confident during the process. I’m here to be an integral part of starting your new chapter, and my helping hand is always available when needed.

What brought you to birth and postpartum work?

My love for birth work was born and nourished by the memory of my grandmother, who was also a doula. I grew up hearing nothing but stories of admiration from anyone who had known her. Her kindness and compassion changed many people’s lives. I strive daily to have the impact that she had on those around her.

In a climate of caregiver burnout, how are you caring for yourself?

Scheduling rest days and massage therapy!

What is a standout book, movie/tv, etc about the childbearing/parenting journey that you return to?
MOVIE

When it comes to media about childbearing and parenting, you might be surprised by my top pick: Baby Mama! I know it’s not the typical answer, but hear me out. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler bring their signature humor to this hilarious and heartwarming film that captures the ups and downs of pregnancy. I love how it shines a light on the sacrifices parents make in a way that’s both entertaining and relatable. So if you’re looking for a laugh and some real talk about the joys and challenges of parenthood, I highly recommend giving Baby Mama a watch.

Testimonials

I cannot recommend my Samantha, birth doula enough! From the very first meeting, it was clear that she was fully committed to making my birth experience as positive and empowering as possible. She took the time to get to know me and my partner, and answered all our questions in a way that made us feel confident and informed.During labor, Samantha was an absolute rockstar. She provided emotional support, helped me stay comfortable with various positions and breathing techniques, and acted as an invaluable liaison between us and the hospital staff. With her calming presence and wealth of knowledge, Sam helped me navigate unexpected challenges with grace and strength. Thanks to her guidance, I felt fully supported and confident throughout the entire process.I truly believe that my birth experience would not have been as smooth, positive, or memorable without my amazing doula. If you’re looking for someone who will go above and beyond to help you achieve the birth you want, then look no further! — C. Lee

I am endlessly grateful for Samantha for the amazing support she gave me in those first few weeks after welcoming my baby into the world. As a new parent, I felt overwhelmed and unsure of myself, but my Samantha was a constant source of comfort and guidance. She checked in on me regularly and made sure that everything was going smoothly. She helped me with everything from breastfeeding to sleep schedules, and even took care of some household tasks so that I could focus on taking care of my baby. What I appreciated most about my doula was her non-judgmental and compassionate approach. She never made me feel like I was doing anything wrong as a new mom, and her reassurance and listening ear made all the difference during a time when I was feeling so vulnerable. Thanks to her support, I was able to relax and enjoy those early days with my baby, knowing that I had someone who had my back. I highly recommend a postpartum doula and (better yet Samantha) to any new parent who wants to feel more confident, calm, and supported during this exciting yet challenging time! — A. Patel
